Sonnet for a Bonnet

This part of the Lodge demanding attention after the spring snow storm.

Growing impatient, she raised a red flag

A feather in her cap none could ignore

Pleading silently for us to restore

Making repairs for jobs long lollygagged

Scaffolding purchased, we answered her call

Ripping away the remnants of insult

and injury; the tree was not her fault

Doing our best, fixing part though not all

500 square feet; her new spring bonnet

promise to protect, finish the couture

(of her) supercentenarian bone structure

Lavishing attention, hence this sonnet

You should not see the sky through your roof
